The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has rewarded Team India’s remarkable T20 World Cup 2026 triumph with a massive bonus of ₹131 crore for the squad and support staff. The announcement came shortly after India lifted the trophy following a thrilling final against New Zealand on home soil.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirmed the reward, describing it as recognition for the team’s dedication, discipline, and outstanding performance throughout the tournament. The prize pool surpasses the ₹125 crore bonus given after India’s previous title win, highlighting the growing scale and influence of the sport.
The bonus will be distributed among the 15 players in the World Cup squad, along with head coach Gautam Gambhir and the entire support team who worked behind the scenes during the campaign. Officials emphasized that the reward reflects the board’s appreciation for the team’s commitment and the pride they brought to the nation.
India’s victory in the tournament further strengthens their dominance in world cricket and the generous reward serves as a celebration of one of the country’s biggest sporting achievements in recent years.
